Attendees: 115 participants of age group 15 – 20 years.
Overview: With the grace and Dua Mubarak of His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS the MUNTK event was successfully conducted on 17th & 18th February at Saifee Eide Zahabi Institute of Science & Technology.
The event aimed to simulate the proceedings of the United Nations, providing participants with a platform to engage in diplomatic debates, negotiations, and problem-solving exercises while addressing global issues.
Event Highlights:
1. Opening Ceremony: The event commenced with a valuable training session conducted by the professional chairs of the event. Furthermore, an introductory speech was delivered by the organizing member, setting the tone for productive discussions.
2. Committee Sessions: Four committees namely, DISEC, ECOFIN, PNA, & SOCHUM, convened parallel sessions to deliberate on assigned topics. Participants actively engaged in debates, presenting their countries’/personalities’ perspectives, and proposing solutions.
3. Crisis Simulations: Special crisis simulations were conducted to challenge participants’ crisis management abilities, requiring quick thinking and strategic decision-making to address unforeseen global crises.
4. Closing Ceremony and Awards: The event concluded with a memorable closing ceremony, where outstanding delegates were recognized and awarded for their exemplary performance and contributions to the MUN, followed by a hearty dinner where attendees celebrated the success of the conference and forged lasting
connections.
Achievements:

* Facilitated constructive dialogue and consensus-building on a wide range of national & global issues.
* Provided a platform for skill development in public speaking, negotiation, research,critical thinking, & diplomacy.
The MUNTK event was a resounding success, offering participants a valuable opportunity to experience diplomacy firsthand, develop crucial skills, & forge meaningful connections. The event not only simulated the complexities of international relations but also inspired and empowered the next generation of global leaders.
Committee Resolutions:
* In DISEC, delegates engaged in lively discussions on nuclear disarmament, addressing the Russia Ukraine conflict. Resolutions focused on treaty ratification, Ukraine’s neutrality for Russian withdrawal, technical aid for nonnuclear states, NPT enforcement, and nuclear energy trade for peaceful purposes, fostering compromise and mutual concessions.
* SOCHUM addressed the zero-drug policy, integrating frameworks from allied nations like Canada, Japan, and Germany. Resolutions included strategies for combating drug trafficking, mental health initiatives, treatment programs, prevention strategies, and chemical controls, leading to a successful outcome.
* In ECOFIN, urgent action on climate change was emphasized to safeguard the global economy. Proposed measures include bolstering the Climate Action Network’s capabilities, investing in renewable energy, and
supporting farmers with eco-friendly practices. Collaboration on these solutions aims to ensure economic resilience and environmental sustainability.
* The Committee of the Pakistan National Assembly (PNA) addressed various societal issues, including trade restrictions, educational reform, poverty alleviation, child labor, and legal amendments. After deliberation, they formulated comprehensive resolutions to bolster local businesses, enhance education quality, combat poverty, safeguard children’s rights, and enhance governance and law enforcement.
